Overview

The 3 days Chimpanzee trekking safari is quite interesting. Being organized to the primate capital of the world – Kibale National Park, it provides an opportunity for Uganda safari undertakers to encounter the splendid habituated chimps in the verdant of this ancient forest. The amazing flora supports a range of 13 primate species, elephants, duikers, bush pigs, birds and butterflies.

Safari highlight:

Day 1: Transfer to Fort Portal, do Fort Portal Crater Lake Hike, visit Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves & then transfer to Kibale National Park
Day 2: Undertake Chimpanzee Tracking experience.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala

Description:

Day 1: Depart for Kibale Forest National Park

Depart from your lodge in Kampala after breakfast in the company of our guide to head to the western part of Uganda. Traverse Mityana – Fort portal road over 4 – 5 hours’ drive to Fort portal town for lunch. Continue to visit Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves & hike the fort Portal Crater Area to gain impressive views of the Fort Portal Crater Field and have an encounter with the ancient Chwezi heritage at the caves. After this encounter, transfer to Kibale National Park for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Primate Lodge (Luxury/Upmarket), Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse (Midrange/Standard) or Rwenzori View Guesthouse (Budget/Basic).

Day 2: Undertake Chimpanzee Tracking experience.
Wake up for an early morning cup of coffee before gathering at Kanyanchu park center for briefing and eventual start of Chimp trekking experience at 08:00 hours. The activity can take 2-5 hours in the verdant of Kibale forest full of birds, various monkey species and wildlife. After trekking, prepare for a nature - community walk in the adjacent Bigodi wetland sanctuary.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala
Embark on your return journey to Kampala after breakfast. Visit Nakayima tree en route in Mubende before proceeding with your journey to Kampala.
