Day 1: Arrive in Rwanda – Kigali International Airport & transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Upon arrival on Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will then transfer you to the gorilla haven of Volcanoes National Park amidst amazing scenery en route. Arrive in the evening for an overnight.
Accommodation: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury/upmarket), Muhabura Hotel (Basic/budget) or Lapalme Hotel (Midrange/standard).
Day 2: Do gorilla trekking
After breakfast at your lodge, assemble at the park headquarters at Kinigi to catch up with briefing session that commences at 08:00am and stretches between 30min – 1 hour. Gorilla families to trek will also be allocated during this session, in case of interest in a specific group an arrangement can be made with the park rangers. After briefing, head to the jungle in quest of the most endangered apes - mountain gorillas of which this can take 2 – 8 hours’ thus packed lunch is necessary. You will view gorillas for one full hour and you are allowed to take photos plus asking any relevant question from the ranger guide about gorillas. Return to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening you can take a walk to the adjacent lakes of Ruhondo and Burera before returning to the lodge for overnight.

Day 3: Hike Dian Fossey center & transfer back to Kigali.
After breakfast, you will embark on the hike to the Dian Fossey grave at the Karisoke research center to pay tribute to one of the re-known conservationists that have ever lived on this planet. The grave of her admirable silverback – Digit also lie in close proximity and thus can be encountered on this gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda. This activity involves a relative climb and lasts 3 -4 hours. Return for lunch at the lodge after which you will transfer back to Kigali city.
