The 6 Days Uganda Wildlife & Chimpanzee safari takes you through the savannah parks of Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth with counts of lions, elephants, giraffe, buffaloes, Jackson hartebeest, kobs, Rhinos in Ziwa, Nile crocodiles and Hippos in Kazinga channel and River Nile, scenic encounters of the powerful Murchison falls and Mount Rwenzori while the forest park of Kibale offers great primate encounter stretching to over 13 primate species including common Chimpanzees. Eco- tourism encounters in Bigodi is incorporated to enhance tourist – host interaction and see how people have sustainably used nature for survival.

Top of the falls
Description:
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park & visit Ziwa Rhino sanctuary en route & top of the falls on arrival.
After breakfast, you will transfer from your place of stay in the company of our guide heading to the north of Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park 311km about 5 hours’ drive. You will branch off at Nakitoma 115km from Kampala for other extra 7 km to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where white rhinos can only be traced in Uganda. After trekking Rhinos, you will continue on the journey to make a lunch stop in Masindi town and eventually proceeded to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you will visit the top of the falls to marvel at amazing scenery of the longest River in the world River Nile as it makes it squeezes its self to pass through the 8m ravine falling 43m below before forming a plume of spray and trademark rainbow. The roaring sound produced by these waters will leave you with a great taste of nature. Retire to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 2: Do game drive & Nile launch cruise
Wake up for an early morning game drive. You will catch up with the ferry crossing at 7am at Paraa before embarking on the rewarding game drive in the northern bank of the Nile. Possible wildlife to see include; lions, elephants, buffaloes, Jackson hartebeest, giraffe, Kobs among other wildlife. The 3 -4 hour game drive will expose you to not only wild game but also birds and amazing rolling savannah combretum. Return to your lodge for relaxation till lunch time after which you will gather at Paraa for the Nile launch cruise that departs at 3pm taking about 3 hours exploring the magical offerings of the Nile. The sights of Nile crocodiles, Hippos, rare shoe bill stork and a range of wild game drinking on the river side will give you company up to the bottom of falls. Retire for overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kibale National Park 441km about 9 hours’ drive from Murchison Falls National Park. You will enjoy the scenic views of the Albertine rift valley including the magical Ruwenzori Mountains as you are approaching Fort Portal. You have a lunch stop in the oil city of Hoima and you will arrive in Fort Portal and Kibale n particular in the evening for relaxation and overnight.

Day 4: Do Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland encounter
You gather at Kanyanchu tourism center to start up with short briefing about the Chimpanzee trekking conduct at 08:00am after which you will head to the forest of Kibale full of birds, 13 species of primate, amazing flora and fauna including forest elephants. The search is for the common chimpanzees - one of man’s closest relatives. Upon encountering them, you will marvel at their physical make up particularly the facial structure that is much correlated with that of man, their pant hooting calls, their playful tactics and the way they swing from branch to branch and from tree to tree that will lure you to use up your camera space unknowingly. The full one hour encounter will allow you maximize this experience. Return from this 2 – 5 hour activity and transfer to Bigodi wetland for eco-tour encounter. The community of Bigodi is gifted by a natural wetland with birds like Rwenzori Turaco, animals like Sitatunga and amazing flora which is greatly used in craft making which makes the Bigodi encounter rewarding. The visit to the local healer and a local school gives you the taste of the societal setting. Return to the lodge for dinner & overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & do Kazinga Channel launch cruise
After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 157km about 4 hours’ drive from Kibale National Park. You will drive through the scenic landscapes of Fort portal area including the magical views of Mount Ruwenzori en route. Mount Ruwenzori stands at 5,109m above sea level with snowcapped peaks. You will arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park early for lunch after which you gather at Mweya to catch up with Kazinga channel launch cruise which starts at 3pm taking about 2 hours exploring the 45m long Kazinga Channel. The launch cruise exposes you to the numerous counts of Hippos and Nile crocodiles not forgetting the wild game including elephants, buffaloes and antelopes drinking on the channel side. The counts of water birds also dwell on the channel shores. Retire for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Do morning game drive & transfer to Kampala.
Wake up early enough to depart for a game drive at 06:00am to catch up with early risers and night hunters getting back to their hiding places including Hyenas, owls, side stripped jackals among others. You will drive through the Kasenyi tracks to enjoy the sights of wild game including elephants, lions, buffaloes, antelopes among others though they are not guaranteed. You will return from this 3 – 4 hour activity to embark on the transfer to Kampala city 417 km about 7 hours. You will drive through the scenic landscapes en route before arriving in Kampala in the evening to mark the end of your safari.
